10th season!
Perhaps the most magical thing about the performing arts is their unique ability to lift us out of our immediate surroundings and take us .. well . just about anywhere in the world. They can transport us in time and toss us across oceans and continents They can open doors to houses, families and experiences we otherwise might never have known. Perhaps most importantly and compellingly, the arts can bring us face to face with that which surrounds us everyday. Sometimes they emphasize our differences; but, more often than not, they reveal a surprising commonality and a shared human experience.

For over 40 years, this building housed the Donna Theater. In the mid-90s, Sturgeon Bay Cinema, a modern multiplex theater, opened and by the late 90s, the Donna closed and stood vacant. In 1999, a small group of people interested in establishing a performing arts center in historic downtown Sturgeon Bay, rented the theater and began the process of converting it to a live performance space. The rest, as the saying goes, is history - our history.

For almost a decade, Third Avenue Playhouse has been a home to the performing arts and a conduit for the transformative nature of music, theater, dance and comedy. It is our privilege to bring you another season filled with more of that same magic.
