There have been a lot of changes at TAP over the past few months, starting with the ‘new kids on the block’ who are now at the helm. And that’s only the beginning! In 2012 you’ll see more than twice as many performances as have been offered at TAP in recent years. That means more music, more movies, more comedy, more concerts… and a whole lot more theatre.
This spring we inaugurate our new concert series, Tuesdays at TAP. Each and every concert features a local artist performing a low-priced fundraiser for a Door County nonprofit. We hope it becomes a regular feature.
This summer the black box Studio Theatre will finally open its doors when the Stage Door Theatre Company presents a full season of professional plays right here at TAP. These ‘intimate plays in an intimate setting’ will bring a new and unique theatre experience to the Door, featuring comedy, music, and drama to lift your spirits and send you out soaring.
The only missing ingredient is you, the audience. A theatre with nobody in the seats is just a building. A theatre full of people sharing an experience together is a thrilling place where we discover new things inside ourselves, and where our lives are tangibly and lastingly changed for the better.
In the few months we’ve been here, the outpouring of support, enthusiasm, and excitement from the community has been almost overwhelming. We are honored to be the current stewards of Door County’s year-round theatre in historic Sturgeon Bay. We promise to bring you the best we know how to bring. And we thank you for joining us on the adventure!
